Eucalyptus globulus
Steeped in indigenous history, the scent of Eucalyptus is overwhelmingly recognisable by most Australians and it is the eucalyptol that gives this oil its fresh, camphor-like scent. High in 1,8- cineole, Eucalyptus is accordingly excellent at supporting the breath in myriad ways, which also lends astringent properties to the oil making it an aid to oily and troubled skin. It is also effective in soothing muscle aches, boost energy and relieve headaches. Those seeking the well-known, traditional Eucalyptus scent will not be disappointed with Eucalyptus Globulus (Blue Gum), the preferred species for aromatherapy. It is surprisingly rare to find this species of essential oil grown and processed in Australia due to the large woodchip industry - most locally sourced Eucalyptus oils are from the radiata species, which Tinderbox also sources. An international Eucalyptus globulus is also available in 15mL and 60mL sizes.
Aroma: Top Note.
Perfume: Fresh and sharp camphorous top notes and penetrating woody undertones. Overall it is stimulating, refreshing and clearing.
Blends well with: most other wood oils and with lavender, bergamot and lemon.
Indications: Analgesic, antibacterial, anti-neuralgic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, anti- spasmodic, anti-viral, astringent, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, expectorant, febrifuge (reduces fever).
