The plant Daucus carota originates from Afghanistan and has been mentioned in texts as early as 1st Century AD by ancient Greek herbalist Dioscorides, who recommended it to rejuvenate the whole body. This essential oil is produced from the dried seeds of the wild carrot (not the cultivated edible vegetable) and should not be confused with a macerated oil made when the carrot material is infused in a base oil. Harmonising, carrot helps to beautify and regenerate the skin.
