Similar in smell and nature to cajeput, niaouli’s properties were discovered simply by observing its own microclimate in its native Australia. Indigenous Australians noticed the fallen leaves of this tea tree variety purified water that ran through it, and early explorers noted the air was healthy and there was less disease in regions where the niaouli tree grew. We too can create a more salubrious, protective environment by diffusing in the home. Use in recipes where you would tea tree but wish for a sweeter, less medicinal smell. A wonderful breath enhancer and is used today in pharmaceutical preparations such as gargles, cough lozenges, toothpastes and mouth sprays.

Aroma: Top Note.

Perfume: Slightly sweet, fresh smell with camphorous notes that can be quite penetrating.

Blends well with: basil, eucalyptus, fennel, juniper, lavender, lemon, lime, coriander, orange, pine, rosemary, peppermint, tea tree and thyme.
